We Have Cabinets

So..it's been a while...
Sorry I haven't updated in over a month.
Updates on our house:
My mom, Mike, and Kara are coming out next week for Thanksgiving. They will be here Wednesday though Sunday I believe. We are looking forward to spending some time with them :)
Church stuff is going well. Last Sunday we had 9 teens in both Sunday School and Sunday night. We are having a bonfire and movie event tonight. Our bonfire is going to be massive (it's a whole shed). It sounds like we are going to have a lot of teens there. In March we are going to winter camp in PA (a different one than were we went last year). Brent's hopes are to take 20 teens with us.... my hope to is to not be on crutches this year for winter camp (last year it was 2 days after I tore everything in my ankle).
Our good friends Ryan and Modesty will become parents by Monday. Modesty was due yesterday and they are planning on inducing her on Monday.
For Christmas we will only be home for about a day and a half. I now have to work Christmas Eve until 2:00 or so. We will leave after I get home from work to drive to Michigan. As of right now, we are planning on staying until Saturday afternoon so we can be back for church on Sunday.
I think that's a brief overview of everything going on. I'll try to update again soon.
Updates on our house:
- Our attic is all re-wire and Brian set up everything for our ceiling fans (they will be here next week). We also blew in 18 inches of cellulose insulation in the attic.
- We have our new dishwasher; it is sitting in the dinning room.
- The kitchen is still all torn up. Our cabinet came in yesterday, but our contractor can not come finish the kitchen until after Thanksgiving.
- Once the cabinets are in/dishwasher is in/stove moved/walls are put back up, we will then have to order the counter tops (Hopefully they won't take as long as the cabinets)
- We got an area rug for the living room!
- We have an extra bed now for a couple months... so if you're going to visit, hurry up and visit if you don't want to sleep on an air mattress :)

Still not much of a fan of owning a house...
Our insurance adjuster didn't get back to the mold cleaner up people until Thursday and at that point the soonest they could come clean up the mold was Wednesday. I call and talked to him...explaining it was making me sick and such, so he called and got them to come seal up the mold and moved the clean up day to Tuesday! On Friday after the came and sealed up, we were told we could turn on the heat. Well... the heater didn't come on when Brent tried. We were thinking it was just the pilot that was out, so we asked Pat to come out and light the pilot for us. He tried, but something else was wrong too. So another guy from church, Ed, came out yesterday and fixed it; luckily it was something REALLY simple!
My mom and Mike bought us fans for our bedroom and the extra bedroom. Mike was going to take care of everything with putting them up when they come out for Thanksgiving. But we the stuff in that has to be done in the attic should be done before we spray all of the insulation in the attic. So our friend Brian (something else from church) said he could do the stuff that needs to be done in the attic for us. He came out yesterday just to check it out and see what he needed. When he came out of the attic he said "your house is a death trap". Apparently there are all sorts of exposed wires in our attic thanks to our little friend the squirrel (we've already solved the problem of keeping him out). So Brian and Brent went to Home Depot and bought the supplies needed and Brian is coming back over in a little bit today to rewire stuff in our attic and get the stuff set up for the fans.
As for the kitchen, we are still waiting on our final estimates...but there is some good new with that situation. On Tuesday night during my women's bible study while we were praying about our house, someone texted me and said they were going to help us pay for it!
Even though all of the things with our house are frustrating, it has been cool to watch God provide for us :)

I don't want to be a homeowner anymore...
The good news...
Our roof is all fixed!! The bathroom needs very minimal work done to it!! :)
The bad news....
Our kitchen is way worse than anyone thought....and the insurance isn't going to pay for all of it. The water rotted out a bunch of the wood that supports the walls and the ceiling/bathroom floor. According to the insurance, these pre-date our policy, so they will not be covered. The insurance is going to cover the dry wall.... and some other stuff. But this going to cost more than originally thought....

Can you find the mold??
Notice the green/white in the top left of this picture... that's mold... And near it are the rotted beams the insurance won't pay for...
We're supposed to be getting the extra pricing in such tomorrow.... but we do have the option of re-do a little more of the kitchen than needed to give us some more cabinet space and a better dishwasher (ours will need to be replaced soonish and the kitchen has to be re-done for that because we can't put a new dishwasher where the current on is). So, we'll see what the final pricing is. Guessing we are just going to end up doing what has to be done now because we really can't even afford that.... unless anyone wants to give us an earlier Christmas present :)
Health wise... I am feeling better. I am on some meds now that should be helping things stay better :)

13 hours in the ER = not much fun
Yesterday at work I all of a sudden has this horrible pain in my side. I just kinda dealt with it for a bit, but it didn't go away and kept hurting worse. So I went to the doctor. She thought it was something with my ovary and sent me to the emergency room. We got to the ER about 4:30. They first checked out my ovaries with an ultrasound and found some cysts on them but didn't think that's what was causing my pain. They then checked out my kidneys with another ultrasound, and they were fine. Then they did a abd CT and came back saying that I had three blood clots. They gave me blood thinners and then did some vascular ultrasounds and were planning on admitting me for more tests. Those ultrasounds didn't show any clots, just some weird blood flow. At this point we were just waiting and waiting. The doctors were all talking about me. Apparently it was a resident radiologist that read my CT the first time and read it wrong. They then said that I just had some weird blood flow...along with elevated liver functions and the cysts on my ovaries. So they sent me home at 5:30 this morning. The blood thinners did make the plan go away for the most part...and I feel okay today. My hand/arms hurt from needles....but other than that I'm good. I go back to the doctor on Tuesday to follow up and see if any sense can be made from all of the tests and labs and such.
So now, I'm just hanging out doing nothing. Tonight is Men's Game Night at church and all of the wives are invited tonight, so we are going to that. And tomorrow is Modesty's baby shower.

An Update
Sorry it's been so long... not a whole lot to write about.
My friend Modesty is pregnant. She's due in the end of November; so another friend (Lindsey) and I have been working on planning her baby shower. It's the first weekend in October.
We are redecorating the teen room at church. They voted and such and a movie theme was decided on. We're getting a projector and a big screen. Someone is building a small stage for us. We are splatter painting two of the walls and putting chalkboard paint on a wall (the other will have the screen). We got new covers for the futon mattresses. We are going to get some movie props and such. Eventually we are going to get either an X-box or a Play Station and new carpet. Once we start to work on it more, I'll put up some pictures.
We have a leak in our roof. The water is running down a pipe and has made the wall in the kitchen all wet. Hopefully it will be getting fixed in the next couple days.
For those of you that don't know, we are going back to Michigan October 30-November 2. Brent is preaching at Calvary (in Battle Creek) on that Sunday.
Hopefully my parents and Kara are coming out here for Thanksgiving. We will be back in Michigan again for Christmas.
I got most of my frame filled with Michigan pictures. I still need six more up and down pictures. I would like one of Brent's parents' house and the Poorman Rd sign. I'm not sure what else for the other four spots... but so far the frame looks pretty cool. :)

Texas
Currently we are sitting in the Amarillo Airport waiting for our plane. We've been here for a while and still have another hour and a half before it's time (our plane got delayed). Then we get to sit in Dallas airport for another chunk of time.
We've have a nice long weekend.
Thursday night we got into Amarillo and stayed with the Crawfords (Nathan's aunt/uncle). Friday morning we hung out with Donna (Nathan's mom) and her sister (whose house we were staying at) and her nephew. It was fun. We ate at a place called Sharky's. It was pretty good. :) Friday afternoon we drove over to the tiny town of Shamrock (population less than 2000). We helped decorate the U-Drop Inn for the reception. You know the movie Cars... the place where they painted the cars in the movie was designed after the U-Drop in. It was pretty cool. Then there was the rehearsal. Allie and I went to explore while Erin and Nathan practiced getting married. The town had about five hardware stores, five hotels, a bunch of gas stations, two dollar stores, a McD's and a Subway. We ate when they were done practicing and then explored the church. The children's area at the church was pretty cool. All of the rooms had murals all over the walls. Then we went back to the hotel and swam for a little bit. We also celebrated birthdays (Brent's, Dad's, and Dave Spear's) with swiss cake rolls... there was no where in town that sold cakes. After that Brent, Tommy, Allie, and I played Phase 10. We let Brent win because it was close to his birthday :)
Saturday we got up and around and then went to look for car decorating supplies. We found some shoe polish, ribbons, balloons, and some condoms (Dad's idea). You can see the pictures below of Nathan's truck. Then was the wedding and reception and such. It was a nice wedding. Afterwards pretty much everyone took off. Grandma and Grandpa were staying one more night, so we did go out to dinner with them and hung out for a little bit. Other than that it was a pretty uneventful night.

This morning we got up and got around. Ate breakfast, said good bye to Grandma and Grandpa, packed, and then took off for Amarillo. We wandered around WallyWorld for a little bit, had Sonic for lunch, and then headed to the airport.... which is where we are now.

Baltimore
We went to Baltimore today. We went to the science center and then to ESPN Zone for some games and dinner. It was fun. Except for the driving part.... but yeah...
In other news, I had to get a new facebook account. For some reason I wasn't able to log into my old one. I spent a week going back and forth with facebook. They were telling me my account didn't exist. So, this morning, I made a new one. If you're not friends with my yet, search for my name and the one without the network attached is the one that works.
Thursday we leave for Texas for Nathan's wedding. I am looking forward to only working three days this week and then seeing family and celebrating Nathan's wedding and Brent's and Dad Eubank's birthdays!

Rain Rain Go Away
It's raining outside... it really can stop anytime. It's making my knee and my ankle hurt so bad.
My new job is going well. I enjoy it for the most part. It's busy, so that makes the days go by fast. The people I work with are all pretty nice, for the most part :) It's WAY different from where I was working at before, but it's a good different I think.
We did slip'n'slide on Sunday with the teens are church. We had a HUGE tarp and some water balloons. It was pretty fun. We had a good number of teens show up too, so that made it more fun. There are pictures on facebook if anyone wants to see. (I'm on Brent's computer at church so I don't have any to post from here.)
In a week and a half we head to Texas for a couple days for Nathan's wedding. Yay for seeing family again (and so soon!). The weekend after Texas we are doing a Beach Trip with the teens. Then it will be Labor Day and summer will basically be over! Hopefully we will have some visitors over Labor Day weekend.
Other than that.... not much is going on.... just all the normal stuff - eating, sleeping, church, tv, working... :) Hope y'all have a good end of the week and a great weekend :)

Pictures
First... the last two post should have been labeled "Places that I miss." As someone pointed out I didn't have any pictures of people. I do very much miss all our family and friends in Michigan. Sorry if there was any misunderstanding.
My mom gave me this HUGE picture frame for Christmas with spots for almost 30 pictures. I have yet to do anything with the frame (it's hanging on the wall with some random pictures in it and LOTS of blank spots). When we were in Michigan I decided that I wanted to do with the frame... fill it with pictures of places and things that are in Michigan but not in Delaware. The pictures from the last two post will be included. But now, I need some help, as I did not take enough pictures to fit the theme when we were in Michigan. And this is where all you Michigan readers come in....
I am looking for pictures of places and things in Michigan. I would like pictures of the follow...

That's all I can think of now... but I think that gives y'all an idea of what I am looking for. If you would like to help me out and e-mail me pictures, I would greatly appreciate it :)

Another update...
I had an interview last Wednesday. It didn't go well at all.
On Friday, Ryan, Modesty, Jay, and Jenn came over for dinner and games. It was fun :)
Sunday was church. We actually had someone show up for youth group! (We haven't had anyone the last two weeks.)
Yesterday not much happened during the day. We had the first day of VBS last night. There were lots of kids there, so hopefully there will continue to be through the week.
Today I had another interview. It went REALLY well. They hope to make a decision in the next couple days. For all the jobs I have had interview's before, this is the one that I am the most excited about.
Brent's hanging out with a teen at some point around 4:00. When he's done with that, we are heading to Michigan. We are going to go to Williamston and spend Wednesday with my family. Thursday we'll head to Battle Creek. Thursday night we're having Sir Pizza for dinner (so yummy) and then going to Aunt Judy and Uncle Randy's for Tim's birthday. Then Friday night is the rehearsal and Saturday Tommy and Allie are getting married! We plan to leave shortly after the wedding and drive all night so we can be back for church on Sunday.
So that's what going on. :)

Brent's Nap
This afternoon I was laying down and wanted Brent to come lay with me and take a nap. He told me that he didn't want to take a nap, that he was wide awake. A little while later...

The "Carpet Bedroom"
Thursday, June 18, 2009
I got my camera back!
These are the curtains I made for the "office." If you can't tell, they are made from Michigan fabric had was purchased in Michigan (because I couldn't find any in Delaware).

This is the bathroom with the new paint job and the new cabinet. (Thanks to Mom and Dad Eubank for giving us and to Jason for helping put it up!)

That's it for now with the pictures. When the extra bedroom is finished, I'll put some up of that :)
Interview, Interview, and Another Interview
Sunday night Brent did a "School's Out" Party at church. We had eight teens show up - there hasn't been that many in a while. They all seemed to have fun for the most part. They did a pie eating contest, a coke chugging contest, volleyball, capture the flag, pizza, and a bonfire with s'mores.
Tuesday I had an interview at a dentist office in downtown Wilmington. He didn't really ask me much about my self or my qualifications, just told me about the job and what it would entail. He said he was going to make a decision by the end of the week.
Yesterday I had another interview at a psychiatrist office. I thought it went really well and was asked to come back tomorrow for a second interview. It would start out as part time, but would hopefully turn into full time in August.
Other than that, I've been busy painting and studying. The bathroom is done! I also have one of the walls in the extra bedroom today. (Once I get my camera back I will post some pictures.) My pharmacy technician test was scheduled for this Saturday, but got reschedule for next Saturday. But it worked out because we now have a funeral at church on Saturday morning.
Randy is supposed to come over this afternoon (if it keeps raining, he'll come Saturday instead) to fix the hole that leads into the attic. This means NO MORE SQUIRREL!!
Brent's parents are coming out the weekend of the Fourth of July. They were here last year on the Fourth also... because they helped us move that week. Crazy to think we have been here almost a year...

Philly and Hershey Park
We've had a fun couple days :)

On Monday, we went into Philly. We checked out the Liberty Bell and Ashley and Jason went through Congressional Hall, while Brent and I played with the kids. We walked into Center City from Old Philly to check out the Comcast Center and everything in between.
Yesterday we went to Hershey Park. Shortly after we got there, pretty much everything closed because of the weather. We wandered through the Zoo because it was one of the few things opened. After that, we did some of the small rides that opened. Jason and I went on a "water roller coaster" while David, Jenny, and Ashley played in the water. Brent just sat on a bench watching the strollers because he didn't want to get wet. Eventually everything opened back up again. Brent, Jason, and I road most of the big roller coasters. Some of them were pretty good. They had one kids like Top Thrill Dragster, but after it shoots you up and then strait down there are some twists and turns and such. They also have one pretty similar to Raptor that was fun :) Jason and Brent almost made me throw up on a twisty turny ride..
Here are a few pictures I took from Ashley... We didn't take any because our camera is needing to be sent in for a recall and won't work until we send it in...

The Zoo and Cheesesteaks
This morning Brent and I took the kids to the zoo. It wasn't much of a zoo, but Jenny had fun seeing the "anmils" and Pooh and Tiger were there too.
This afternoon, Jenny played out side with Brent and David played inside with me. While David took naps, I got part of our bathroom painted :)
Ashley and Jason got back from DC around dinner time, so we took them to Claymont Steak Shop for cheese steaks. They were yummy! And tomorrow, we are going to Five Guys after church. I know you all in Michigan are jealous and wish you could be here to eat yummy Delaware food :)
On a side note.... Jenny loves to play on the stairs. She has to ask before she can go up or down them, and got in trouble several times for playing on them when she wasn't supposed to. But it's kinda funny ... she'll think of any excuse that she can to get to go upstairs - her favorite being that she has to go potty... and she has to go potty every ten minutes....

A Rainy Day
Ashley and Jason left this morning to go to DC for two days. We played with this kids at home this morning and then after lunch and naps went to church to play in the nursery and to give Jenny somewhere to run around a little bit. After that we went to Modesty and Ryans. David fell asleep in the car and slept most of the we were there. Jenny played with Ryan and Brent while Modesty and I walked.

Does anyone know what these are??

They are white things that are growing in our side yard. To me, they look like eye balls and have the consistency of eye balls. They have the weird pink/orange things growing out of them in some spots.
I really would like to know what they are though and if they are something we should be trying to get rid of for any other reason than I think they look nasty.
Any ideas??

Another update...
Next Thursday Jenny and David and Ashley and Jason are coming to visit for a whole week!!!
Aren't they cute? :)

In other news... Yesterday I heard back from my interview. They decided to hire another MA instead of a front desk person. The lady that interviewed me though said she would pass along my resume to some other offices within the health system that are hiring. She said would have also tell them that I am a great candidate. So, we'll see what that leads to. I haven't heard back from anyone else....

An Update for Mom
My mom told me on Friday that I needed to update so she can know what's going on in our lives....
I've been getting lots of stuff done around the house. Last week I emptied five more boxes with random things in them. I think I'm down to four left...or somewhere in that area. I hung up more pictures. And I started the paint. We just bought pain for the dining room and I have two layers up, but it still needs at least one more before it will be done.
Thursday I had a job interview at an doctor's office owned by one of the big health networks just the other side of the state line. It went okay; they kept telling my I was definitely qualified and more so told me about the job than asking me questions. They said I should here back on Tuesday or Wednesday.
We've had a busy couple days. Friday night we hung out with our friends Ryan and Modesty. Then Saturday we end up going with them to Ryan's parents' house in Landcaster. We did lots of stuff... washed cars, played with a manikin, went shopping, played mini golf. It was fun :) Today was church and is church again in a little bit. And tomorrow I think we are going over to my dad's house for a little while.
So there is an update for ya Mom :)

Life Can Be Pretty Boring...
...when you don't have a job.
Last Thursday I received a phone call from Dr. Navarro telling me it was no longer necessary for me to come in. They are going to pay me through the end of my "two weeks"...
I've been applying for jobs left and right. Hopefully someone will call me soon for an interview.
We had a women's ministry event on Saturday at church call HeartSpa. Women could come get massages, facials, and manicures. It was a long day, but turned out really well. Everyone seemed to enjoy them selves.
Ashley and Jason and Jenny and David are coming in a couple weeks (the first weekend in June). I'm excited to see them...we've been able to see them twice since we moved to DE, but both times were just quick visits, so it will be good to spend some time with them and to see how much the kids have grown.

...
My ankle is doing well. It normally hurts in the morning, but after I've been up for a little bit, it feels good. Most of the time I'm walking normal :)
I've been sick the past couple days... sore throat, headache, fever, cough and so on. I slept most of the day yesterday. This morning I slept for the most part until Brent got home from church and now I'm starting to feel a little bit better.
On Friday I put in my two weeks at work. It's a huge long story... I've been putting my resume in lots of places the last couple weeks so hopefully something will come a long soon. I'm also study to take the pharmacy tech boards, so that might open up some more possibilities.

Another week...
I went to the doctor yesterday and he said it's all looking good. He told me I could start trying to move it and get some of my range of motion back. He also gave me a theraband and some exercises to do. But, he still wants me to use my crutches another week and I am still wearing my foot.

Smoke and Pictures
So.. Yesterday right before we left our house Brent decided to turn on the self cleaning feature on our oven (I was unaware he turned it on). When we got home about an hour later, our whole house was full of smoke. It took an hour or so for all of the smoke to go away, but the stench is still around. We've been spraying febreeze, so I house has a very interesting smell. Hopefully it will all be gone in a couple days.
My foot... well.. it's there. It's been really sore all week. I think it's a mix between moving it a little, putting a little weight on it, and the dreary rainy weather we have been having. But.. here is a picture of it. I only with it felt as good as it looks.
It does look a little different now. I had to have some steri-strips put on it. But that's not really a big deal.

I got my cast off....
and this time he didn't put another one on!! BUT, I am back in my boot and still on crutches. He said I could slowly start to be weight on it.
He did a little bit of testing, but not too much because it is still really sore. He took my stitches out and said my incision is still pretty tender. I put LOTS and LOTS of lotion of my calf/shin and it still itches. It looked pretty nasty.
Right now, six hours after the removal of the cast, my ankle is hurting pretty bad (and no, I haven't put more weight on it than I should).
It's all wrapped up right now, but at some point soon I will post a picture or two.

I got my cast off....
...then got a new one put on.
Dr. Bell said it all looks good. My incision is healing well and there is no sign of infection. BUT he put me in another cast to give it some more time to heal and I have to stay off of it a bit longer than expected. The new cast will stay on until I go back on March 30th. That day he will take out my stitches and hopefully I will be back in the boot starting to bear weight.
Here's a picture for you all to enjoy of my foot in between the casts. It looks a lot more swollen in the picture than it really is. It's wasn't really all that bloody and didn't really smell; it looks way better than my knee did when we took the bandages and such off for the first time after my TTT.
That's about... time to put the computer away :)

An Update
Sorry it's taken so long for an update...
My ankle is doing okay. Last Sunday I took a pain pill after church and then I didn't take another one until Friday night. My ankle didn't really hurt most of the week, it was just annoying. Yesterday and today it's hurt pretty bad. My cast keeps getting looser and looser as the swelling is going down...which means my foot can move a little bit. I go back to the doctor tomorrow morning to get the cast off. Not sure if he's going to just put me back in my boot, or if he's going to put another cast on it. I still won't be able to put weight on it though until at least Friday. I've done pretty good with the crutches so far... I haven't gotten sore arms yet :) And Brent's been pretty much amazing taking care of me and helping me get around.
In other news.... I did enjoy spending time with my mom when she was here last weekend. We really didn't do much; watched lots of movies and took some naps. I did have her and Brent rearrange the furniture in our living room; I was bored with it...plus it looks way bigger and much better now. I didn't do much through out the week. I took lots of naps and watched lots of movies. I went back to work on Thursday. On Saturday my dad came over and brought Katie and Trev. We had fun hanging out with them. Dad had fun taking picture of my foot next to Katie's broken arm. Saturday night Brent's parents got here. We had fun with them on Sunday and they hung out all day with Brent today while I was working. I've heard we have a new dresser upstairs in our guest room from them, but I have yet to crawl up the stairs to see it.
That's about it... nothing to exciting. I'll try to remember to post tomorrow to let y'all know what Dr. Bell says about my ankle. Maybe I'll even post of pictures :)

Home and Resting
My surgery went well today. Dr Bell told mom and Brent that it was one of the worst tears he had seen, so it was a good thing we decided to go ahead with the surgery. My foot is in a hard cast for the next couple weeks and I can't not put any weight on my foot. It is pretty sore, kind of scared about how bad it is going to feel tomorrow. I can move ALL my toes again! I haven't been able to move my three outside toes since Jan 15, so that's a good thing :)

One Week
A week from today is my surgery.... it's getting close and we still have no idea were all the money is going to come from (we have to pay most of it the day of). I'm not so much worried about the surgery; my job is easy there - I just have to get some drugs and go to sleep for a while. It's the afterwards part that I'm a little nervous about - crutches for two weeks does not sound good. But should all be worth it in the long rung...I'll be able to walk with a normal shoe and without pain once everything is all done :) Plus, I get to see my mommy next weekend.
It's been a long week and hopefully will be a relaxing weekend.

A Short Update
My ankle still is really sore. All of the bruising and swelling is gone, but I have very little ROM and still can't bend three of my toes. I go back to see the doctor tomorrow, so we'll see what he says.
I have another fun little injury too. On Sunday we had our Valentine Banquet at church and I was in charge of all the food. On Sunday morning I was starting to get things ready. I was opening cans with the little poppy top things. One of them got stuck and so I yanked on it and somehow my finger go in the way. I got blood all over the floor, but none in the food:) It gushed for a while, so I let someone take me to the medical aid unit and I got three shots and then four stitches. Most of the pain is gone now, but I just have to keep the stitches covered..and it's on my right hand, so it's pretty much just a pain now.
Brent's doing well... not hurting himself. But his car was sick and it cost a lot to make it better. We tried doing it ourselves, and even had a friend who is a mechanic come over and help. But because of where the alternator is in his car, it was too big of a job to do in the driveway. We had to have it towed too because the battery was so fried. But after way too much money and a couple hours, it was all fixed and Brent was happy to have his car back and working well.

We're really alive..
...we've just been really busy.
I've been working lots and lots. My foot is still sore, but is slowly getting better. I go back on the 19th, so we'll see what the doctor says then. I've had more kidney stones over the weekend, one of which was HUGE. But I think they are all gone now for the time being (hopefully forever). Friday night I went to a really weird restaurant in Philly for Modesty's bachelorette party. I wasn't bad weird... it was just weird.
Brent was really busy at the end of last week. He left on Thursday night with a group of men from church to go to a camp to put up dry wall. He got home on Saturday morning and then went to an "Adult Chuckie Cheese" place for Ryan's bachelor's party. And then Sunday was church.
Brent's car decided to get sick yesterday. Pretty sure it's the alternator. I'm gonna try to change it on Wednesday when I have a half day at work.
Next Sunday night we are having a Valentine's Banquet at church and I'm in charge of food for it, so I'll be busy the end of this week and weekend working on stuff for that.
And that's our lives.. busy and kinda boring :)
Today is Kara's birthday - Happy Birthday Kara!

4 Weeks
So.. the story with my foot...
Last Wednesday I was driving home from church and there was a truck infront of me. A box flew out of the truck and I would have hit another car if I would have sworved to not hit the box. The box got stuck under my car so I pulled over and squatted down to look under my car. When I squatted my ankle rolled and made a sound like twigs breaking. It was a cardboard box that was under my car... and my car is fine. (My mom's first reaction was "YOU SMASHED YOUR CAR!!!!") The only medical place that was open was the ER and I didn't want to go there... so we went over to my boss's house (a doctor) and he looked at it. He made some phone calls and in the morning I went to see the ankle specialist in our building. He had some x-rays and such and we found out it wasn't broken. He put me in a Walking Boot so I can walk on it, but it hurt. We went to camp over the weekend and whatnot. Last night I went and saw the ankle specialists again and he wanted an MRI, so I had one that night. I have one legiament that is completely torn and the others are all injured. He wants me to be in the Boot for four weeks and then we'll see about surgery. So.. that's the story...and the plan...

A tear... and a trip
For those of you haven't heard, I screwed my ankle up pretty bad on Wednesday night... I'll give out some more details later...
And we are at snow camp at the Word of Life camp in upstate New York. It was -14 without the wind chill last we heard... it's COLD! And there is about three feet of snow!

For those of you complaining....
The past week or so has been pretty uneventful....
Last Sunday Brent had a launch party at church for a new "chapter" with his ministry. It's call GC Squared. The "motto" is "Doing the great commission by living the great commandment". At the launch party I launched a rocket... the parents and teens that showed up had fun.
This week has been crazy for me at work. The physician I work for had the week off, so I've had extra stuff to do...
I'm sick. I passed another kidney stone this week... so my kidneys hurt. Plus, I have the nasty cold crud that has been going around...
Next weekend is snow camp. We are going to the Word of Life camp in up state New York. There are two other adults going with us (Randy and Karen for those of you who know them) and as of right now eight kids (there are a couple that are maybes still).
